Tea Parity, typo for "tea party?"
The name Tea Parity came from the visual similarity to "tea party" and the meaning of parity, the quality or state of being equal or equivalent. Here are some of the ideas that came to mind when creating the name Tea Parity.
At a brief glance the name looks like "tea party" which is a wonderful aspect of the tea world. Gathering together to drink tea and break bread is a perfect utilization of tea.
The aspect of equilibrium comes into play in a few different ways. When tea leaves are steeped in hot water, there is an amount of time in which the reaction of the chemicals in the leaves will combine with the water and reach a state of equilibrium, thus forming a delicious liquid tea to drink. The person steeping the tea also experiences the high energy of bringing the water up to the proper temperature, then immediately pausing for the meditative moments waiting for the tea to steep, the slow build of anticipation as the liquid comes to a temperature easy to drink, then the calming effects of the act of taking the time to sit and drink. When drinking a caffeinated tea the calming effect can be accompanied with more energy due to the combination of Caffeine and L-Theanine. These highs and lows combined in a single process create the equilibrium.
The combination of these ideas is the origin of Tea Parity.
